Report Roundup: Greater Sacramento’s 2025 Noteworthy Projects
In 2025, the North (Greater Sacramento) Center of Excellence (COE) released a number of projects applying data insights to labor market and career education (CE) program opportunities in the subregion.
Each project provided insights into workforce trends, career opportunities, and community college program alignment in the subregion, with a throughline focus on middle-skill jobs in the 12 sectors designated by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO).
- The Top Occupations in Greater Sacramento report highlights priority jobs in the subregion that fall into three educational attainment categories: below middle skill, middle skill, and bachelor’s degree.
- The Priority Jobs and Programs in Greater Sacramento report identifies high-opportunity, middle-skill jobs and their aligned community college programs in the subregion.
- Five targeted 2025 North (Greater Sacramento) District/College Profiles examine pathways leading to careers with a bright future. The profiles provide deep-dives into workforce dynamics, priority “focus” occupations, and aligned CTE programs in community college and district service areas in the subregion.
- The Pathways Forward: Collaborative Solutions to Allied Health Clinical Placement Challenges report examines the shortage of clinical placement opportunities for allied health students entering Sacramento’s health care workforce, and presents recommendations from extensive stakeholder interviews for solving this critical issue.
- The Bridging the Gap: Strategies for Restoring Public Sector Employment in the Sacramento Region report assesses key trends, projected job growth, and workforce challenges in public sector employment, with a particular focus on local government.
The North (Greater North) COE remains dedicated to reporting on local labor market needs, available education and training programs, and future strategies to support student career preparation in the New Year.
