Santa Clarita CCD Named New Home of SCC COE
Santa Clarita Community College District has been selected as the new host for the South Central Coast Center of Excellence for Labor Market Research (SCC COE).
As SCC COE transitions to its new location, a new director is currently being recruited to oversee activities that will include serving as a technical assistance provider to community colleges in the South Central Coast Regional Consortium as well as conducting data analyses examining labor market opportunities and outcomes related to student equity in the region.
The process is initially being helmed by Jeff Gregor, assistant superintendent/vice president of workforce and economic advancement at College of the Canyons.
The South Central Coast region encompasses San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and northern Los Angeles counties. The region is characterized by a population of more than 2.2 million residents, served by eight community colleges.
SCC COE was previously hosted by Moorpark College.
During the transition, State COE Director Laura Coleman and Research Associate Juan Madrigal (juan@coeccc.net) will provide support as needed to community colleges within the SCC region.
