Re-introducing John Carrese: Bay Region COE’s Regional Director of Labor Market Research
We are pleased to announce that John Carrese will be continuing with the Bay Region Center of Excellence (Bay COE) in a new role as the Regional Director of Labor Market Research. John served as the Director of the Bay Region COE for 19 years when the program was hosted at City College of San Francisco (CCSF).
John’s tenure and experience with the Bay COE is an invaluable support during the transition of the program from CCSF to Cabrillo College, as well as the onboarding of the new Director (Marcela Reyes) and Research Analyst (Yumi Huang). John’s wealth of knowledge and expertise will greatly benefit the COE team.
John supports Bay Region colleges by providing customized data on high growth, emerging, and economically critical industries and occupations. The COE produces reports and data tools that provide a real-time picture of the labor market, its future direction, and the programs and training needed to meet future workforce demand. Over the years, John has seen the impact of COE research in helping community colleges tailor their programs to support the region’s dynamic and competitive workforce.
In addition to his professional duties, John volunteers with the Sierra Club San Francisco Bay Chapter, most recently working on advancing efforts to bring Climate Literacy curriculum and programs to Bay Area schools. John enjoys playing tennis, gardening, walking his dog Augie and traveling.
