Project Release: Far North Labor Market Analysis by Sector

The Far North Center of Excellence (COE), in partnership with the North (Greater Sacramento) COE, recently published 10 sector profiles that analyze labor market demand and community college program offerings in the Far North subregion.

The profiles highlight in-demand, middle-skill jobs that pay above a living wage.  Each profile summarizes key data, including:

  • Current and projected workforce demand
  •  Hourly wages
  • Job postings (including in-demand skills)
  • Training opportunities at regional community colleges

The sectors analyzed are:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Advanced Transportation & Logistics
  • Agriculture, Water & Environmental Technologies
  • Business & Entrepreneurship
  • Education & Human Development
  • Energy, Construction & Utilities
  • Health
  • Information & Communications Technologies/Digital Media
  • Public Safety
  • Retail, Hospitality & Tourism

As part of the project rollout, the North/Far North COE presented the sector profiles during a live webinar for regional stakeholders earlier this fall. Listen to an overview of the profile metrics and how to interpret them here.
