The Bay Region Center of Excellence (COE) released a report titled: “Childhood Education Employment: Mapping Career Opportunities in the Bay Region and California.”

Although some childhood education occupations offer a living wage, this report finds that this is not the case for early childhood education occupations in the Bay Area. Early childhood educators may need to explore alternative career pathways to achieve a more promising career trajectory.

This report is part of a broader study examining how skills developed in low-wage or low-mobility jobs can be leveraged to access higher-paying employment opportunities.
