The Bay Region Center of Excellence (COE) has developed six new sector profiles for areas of the economy that have been prioritized by the Bay Area Community College Consortium (BACCC) and the 28 community colleges in the region.
The profiles were created to support the planning and development of career education (CE) programs and career pathways in the Bay Area, and highlight trends in the labor market and postsecondary programs.
The sector profiles are:
- Information & Communications Technology (ICT)/Digital Media
- Health
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Advanced Transportation
- Education
- Public Safety
Each sector profile includes current employment and projected demand data for relevant occupations, supply data for colleges issuing certificate and degree awards for relevant programs, information on emerging occupations and trends, and demographic data about students enrolled in programs. Occupational data is presented by career pathway and education/skill level to facilitate program development decisions.
