Introducing the San Diego & Imperial Research Hub: A Shared Home for Regional Data and Research

Across San Diego and Imperial Counties, organizations are producing high-quality research and data tools to inform decisions about workforce, economic, and community development. Yet too often, this work lives in silos—spread across websites, reports, dashboards, and internal systems—making it difficult for practitioners to find, compare, and use.

To address this challenge, the San Diego & Imperial Center of Excellence (COE) launched the San Diego & Imperial Research Hub, a centralized, public-facing repository for regional data and research.

The COE officially unveiled the Research Hub at the Inaugural Research Summit on January 16, 2026, where regional leaders shared how they are using data to improve community well-being—from expanding homeownership to strengthening talent pipelines and improving student outcomes.

A Centralized Resource for Regional Decision-Making

The Research Hub is designed to serve as the region’s go-to source for education, workforce, and economic development research. Managed by the COE, the Hub acts as a repository for reports, briefs, dashboards, and data tools from organizations to:

  • Reduce duplication of research efforts
  • Increase visibility of existing data and analysis
  • Support collaboration across institutions and regions
  • Enable more coordinated, data-informed decision-making

Rather than creating new research, the Hub focuses on organizing and elevating the work that already exists, making it easier for users to understand what is available and how it can be applied.

A Call to Contribute

The Research Hub is intended to be a shared regional resource, and its value grows as more organizations contribute. We invite you to share any reports, dashboards, or data tools by emailing sandiego-imperial@coeccc.net for inclusion in the Research Hub.

By contributing, organizations help ensure that their work reaches a broader audience, supports regional alignment, and informs decisions beyond their immediate networks.

Together, the Research Hub helps make regional research more visible, more accessible, and more useful—for everyone working to improve outcomes across San Diego and Imperial Counties.
