Highlights from the Fall 2024 CCCAOE Conference

This season’s CCCAOE Conference featured powerful keynote speakers and thought-provoking presentations. Highlights included:

  • Dr. Robert Eyler discussed trends in workforce demographics, wage growth, inflation, and industry-specific forecasts for California through 2030. His keynote addressed labor market variations for different industry sectors and regions within the state.
  • Fresno City College explored aligning dual enrollment with Career Technical Education pathways to support student success and economic mobility at a session titled: “Aligning Dual Enrollment & Guided Pathways in CTE.” This presentation discussed designing dual enrollment programs with courses connected to academic and career majors, economic advancement and opportunities for all students, and aligning programs with current labor market needs.
  • The Chancellor’s Office and WestEd introduced DataVista, showcasing its advantages over LaunchBoard and navigating the enhanced data platform for an improved user experience. In their session titled: “Transitioning from LaunchBoard to DataVista,” they explained the meaning of DataVista, the data dashboards available to us, the advantages when compared to LaunchBoard, and the data infrastructure.  The presenters also navigated the platform to show the user interface experience.
