High-Quality Occupations County Profiles and Upcoming Job Quality Dashboard Webinar
The South Central Coast Center of Excellence (SCC COE) for Labor Market Research expanded on the region’s labor market landscape by analyzing data for each of its counties. The SCC COE’s High-Quality Occupation County Profiles provide summary data for High-Quality occupations across each CCCCO sector, while the Data Exploration Addendums include detailed data for each High-Quality occupation.
Across all SCC counties, High-Quality occupations are concentrated in Health, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Education and Human Development. However, there are several unique High-Quality occupations in each county, such as nuclear engineers in San Luis Obispo County, computer programmers in Santa Barbara County, clinical laboratory technologists and technicians in Ventura County, and art directors in Northern Los Angeles County. All High-Quality Occupation County Profiles and Data Exploration Addendums can be accessed here.
Additionally, the SCC COE published Job Quality Dashboards that include data for all occupations, including Low- and Medium-Quality occupations. These dashboards serve as a valuable resource for faculty, administrators, counselors, and students, so they may better understand the characteristics and trends of different sectors and occupations across the SCC Region and its counties.
To learn more about the Job Quality Dashboards and how to utilize them to gather data for program development, grant applications, and other planning purposes, please register for the COE’s upcoming regional webinar on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10 AM using this link. Stakeholders from community colleges, K12 schools, and the workforce development community in Northern Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties are encouraged to attend.
