Bay Area COE Releases 2022 Year-in-Review Workforce Trends Analysis

The Bay Region Center of Excellence (COE) has compiled and published a year-in-review analysis of unemployment and employment in the region during 2022 with key trends to consider for the labor market and workforce moving forward.

The Bay Region’s labor market has recovered significantly from the severe loss of jobs that occurred during the early months of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

As of December 2022, the Bay Region’s economy has gained back all the jobs lost since March 2020, plus added an additional 61,700 jobs. The regional unemployment rate of 3.3% is below the March 2020 unemployment rate of 4.7%.
