Agriculture Workforce Needs Assessment Woodland Community College Lake County Campus
In late May 2021, the North (Greater Sacramento) COE completed an agricultural workforce needs assessment for Woodland Community College’s Lake County Campus. This report provides an overview of Lake County, California’s agricultural workforce needs, focusing on industry and occupational data available through EMSI and the State of California’s Employment Development Department Labor Market Information Division. A key finding from the report is that while agriculture is Lake County’s sixth-largest industry, there are few jobs for middle- and above-middle skilled workers and related training opportunities. Furthermore, there are 85 agriculture-focused career education programs at eight community colleges within two hours of Woodland’s Lake County Campus.
