Alternative Fuels & Advanced Transportation Technologies: Automotive Workforce Needs Assessment

Description:

Alternative Fuels & Advanced Transportation Technologies: Automotive Workforce Needs Assessment

Although there have been high-level assessments of jobs evolving from the development of the alternative fuel and advanced vehicle technologies, little has been done to understand and document specific workforce needs of employers. There were three areas of focus for this study: industry trends, occupations, and educational programs related to alternative fuel vehicles. The assessment focused on two segments that work closely with alternative fuel vehicles: automotive repair shops (auto shops) and car dealerships, and companies with fleets. This study is based on the surveys and focus groups of employers within these two employer groups statewide.
